Countries with No Capital Gains Tax

Countries that do not tax capital gains on investments, stocks, or property sales.

Fifty countries and territories levy no tax on capital gains for individual investors. They fall into three broad groups: classic zero-tax jurisdictions (Cayman Islands, Bermuda, Bahamas, UAE, Monaco), high-tax countries that simply exempt long-term private investment gains (Switzerland, Belgium, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong), and developing economies without a separate capital gains regime.

The details matter: many of these countries still tax gains that look like business income (frequent trading), gains on real estate, or gains realised by companies. Always check the country page for the specific carve-outs before planning a move.
